Windshield Damage and how you get it
When a road pebble or rock strikes a windshield, it chips the outer glass
layer, creating a chip or small crack. The chipped glass particles become
surrounded by tiny air pockets, causing visual distortion. These stone chips
and small cracks happen all the time. Vehicles moving quickly, slowly, or
even standing still can suffer this minor windshield damage.
The principle of windshield repair
This patented design evacuates the air to fill the cavities with a specially
formulated liquid resin which when cured with ultra-violet light clears the
distortion and bonds the loose glass preventing the damage from spreading.
All stone chip damage is different
No two stone chips are identical. They may look alike, but they're different
in many ways. Some are as small as a penny, others can be as large as a half
dollar. And they come in many different shapes too.

| The UV24D includes a glass drill which is used
when the surface damage is not large enough for the resin to penetrate and
also stop cracks from spreading. Drilling opens up air passages for star
type breaks which contain spider cracks and creates a pit for the resin to
flow freely into the damaged area.
Shops having multiple locations and mobil operations will find this
inexpensive system to be the best solution for the growing glass repair
market.

| This system is designed for the glass repair specialist who
performs high volume repairs and requires a high intensity UV curing lamp.
The Super Vac Deluxe contains both a UV shop lamp (110 volts) as well as a
portable battery operated UV lamp.
The Deluxe also includes two injector assemblies for performing two
repairs simultaneously. The added components provide both back up and
flexibility. The SVD performs 100 repairs and includes a thin based crack
filler resin for repairing small cracks.

| The crack repair method teaches you to repair small stress
cracks that emulate from the windshield edge and small cracks that extend
from typical stone chip type breaks. Cracks can start out small, but often
spread quickly across the entire windshield. The focus is on stopping small
cracks before they spread beyond repair. The end of the crack is the
tightest area and consequently the most difficult area to repair.
Repairing small cracks requires drilling a pilot hole 1/8 inch beyond the
end of the crack and then creating a miniature bull's-eye at the drilled
pilot hole to relive the stress. Once the stress is relieved, the bull's-eye
is repaired by performing a typical windshield repair and applying the crack
resin along the crack and then curing. |
